Barossa Quilt & Craft Cottage

The Barossa Quilt & Craft Cottage is somewhat unique, it is Australia’s only “licensed” quilt shop. The Cottage has been trading now for 19 years.

Barossa Quilt & Craft Cottage - Patchwork Quilting Shop South Australia

Housed in a refurbished pug cottage (circa 1888) and surrounded by a formal rose garden containing more than 800 roses, the Bartsch’s have turned this unique heritage cottage into something of a landmark on the main road between Angaston & Nuriootpa in South Australia.

Inside the cottage you will find everything from fabric & accessories for quilters to gifts & crafts for the passing tourist. Out the back of this gorgeous cottage is the wine tasting and gallery. Enjoy a sip of boutique wine produced from the fruit from the Bartsch’s own vineyard while admiring the amazing quilts on display in the gallery.

Quilting lessons & advice are available from Heather and her friendly staff, as well as hosting visiting International tutors such as Mary Ellen Hopkins, Kaye England, Angela Madden, Cynthia England.

Barossa Quilt & Craft Cottage run several innovative programs for quilters worldwide. These include The Fabric Club beginning in February each year as well as the popular “Block of the Month” and “Mystery Quilt” features.

Owing to attendance at major craft shows both in and out of Australia, a large part of Barossa Quilt & Craft Cottage’s business is mail order. Heather & staff would be happy to add you to their mailing list, or feel free to read or download the latest newsletter.
